Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) testing is an effective way of assessing the amount of oxygen and carbon dioxide in your bloodstream. A blood sample is typically taken from the radial artery and analyzed by a machine in our lab. The reading helps evaluate the severity of underlying lung conditions - both acute and chronic. â€‹

Currently, ABGs are the gold standard in Alberta for funding qualification for home oxygen.
